Sheffield Wednesday are still waiting for clearance on a deadline-day move for Wrexham attacker Davis Keillor-Dunn, with the deal yet to be fully ratified.
The Owls moved late on Tuesday night in an attempt to bring the 28-year-old to Hillsborough on loan, with Keillor-Dunn travelling for a medical while Wednesday were in League One action away at Wycombe Wanderers.
According to The Star’s Alex Miller, the move remained "ongoing" on Wednesday morning and Keillor-Dunn had not yet been formally registered as a Sheffield Wednesday player.
The delay is understood to relate to the clearance process surrounding a deal submitted close to the transfer deadline. Late registrations can require additional approval from football authorities before a transfer can be formally completed.
Long-standing Wednesday interest
Keillor-Dunn has been on Wednesday’s radar for some time.
The Star reported earlier in the summer that the Owls were admirers of the former Barnsley attacker, although a deal had appeared unlikely until an opportunity emerged during the final hours of the transfer window.
Should the move receive the necessary clearance, it would add another versatile attacking option to Henrik Pedersen’s squad.
Keillor-Dunn can operate in several positions across the frontline and has an impressive record at League One level, scoring 36 goals in 88 appearances in the division during his career.
Pedersen waiting for news
Speaking after Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory at Wycombe, Pedersen was asked about the possibility of another arrival.
The Wednesday head coach indicated that recruitment work had continued while he concentrated on the match and said he was looking forward to discovering whether the club had been able to complete another signing.
Wednesday therefore remain hopeful of adding Keillor-Dunn to their squad, but at this stage the transfer should be considered pending rather than complete while the required clearance is awaited.
