WAWAW News

Content, Sources & Attribution Policy

Effective date: 5 April 2026

WAWAW News is an independent Sheffield Wednesday fan site created to help supporters find relevant news, opinion, match coverage and discussion in one place.

This page explains how content is sourced, how third-party material is referenced, and how concerns can be raised.

1. Independent fan site

WAWAW News is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, the EFL, the BBC, or any other publisher, club, league, organisation or rights holder unless explicitly stated.

The site is operated for supporters and readers with an interest in Sheffield Wednesday.

2. Non-commercial position

WAWAW News is currently a hobby site and is not operated as a business.

At the time of writing, the site:

  • carries no advertising
  • generates no income
  • does not charge users for access
  • is not operated as a commercial publishing platform

If that changes in future, this policy will be updated.

3. How third-party sources are referenced

WAWAW News may reference reports, announcements, updates and coverage published by third-party websites, publications and organisations.

Where third-party stories are referenced, the aim is to:

  • help supporters discover relevant coverage more easily
  • direct readers to the original source
  • provide fan-focused context, commentary or discussion around stories of interest

Where possible, readers will be linked to the original publisher or source article so they can view the full piece directly from that source.

4. Original WAWAW News content

WAWAW News also publishes original content, including fan opinion, match previews, match reports, features and commentary.

Where an original WAWAW News article is informed by reporting, information or data published by a third party, reasonable efforts will be made to credit the relevant source, publication, website, journalist, writer or data provider where appropriate.

Credits may appear within the article body, at the end of the article, or elsewhere on the relevant page.

5. Images and presentation

WAWAW News may use original site graphics, original layouts and other visuals intended to support the presentation of content.

The aim is not to misrepresent ownership of third-party material or suggest that WAWAW News is the original publisher of any external reporting or source content.

If any publisher, photographer, writer, rights holder or authorised representative has a concern about how content is presented, they are encouraged to get in touch.

6. Attribution, corrections and concerns

WAWAW News aims to reference and attribute third-party sources fairly and clearly where they have informed content published on the site.

If a publisher, journalist, rights holder or reader believes:

  • attribution is missing
  • a source has been credited incorrectly
  • a link is inaccurate
  • material is misleading
  • content should be reviewed or removed

they can contact the site and the matter will be reviewed in good faith and as promptly as reasonably possible.

7. Contact

Questions or concerns relating to displayed content, attribution, links or source references can be sent to:

admin@wawaw.news

This includes contact from publishers, journalists, photographers, copyright holders and authorised representatives.

8. Future monetisation

If WAWAW News is ever monetised in future through sponsorship, advertising or other site revenue, the intention is that all proceeds will be donated to Sheffield Children's Hospital.

If that position changes, this policy and any related site policies will be updated.

9. Policy updates

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the site, its features, or its approach to sourcing, linking and attribution.

The latest version will always be published on this page.
