Player profile
Junior Donald Kamwa is an English professional footballer who plays primarily as a winger.
Kamwa developed through Bradford City’s academy and became known for his pace, close control and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations.
He attracted attention while playing for Bradford’s youth teams and was reportedly monitored by Premier League clubs during his development.
Footage published during his Under-16 season highlighted his direct running and attacking output, with Kamwa recording eight goals and nine assists during that stage of his academy career.
He continued through Bradford’s youth system and featured in the FA Youth Cup, although he did not make a competitive senior appearance for the club.
Kamwa left Bradford City following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.
He joined Sheffield Wednesday on trial during the autumn of 2024 and began appearing for the Owls’ Under-21 side.
Kamwa made an early impression after being introduced to the development squad and featured primarily from the left flank during his trial period.
Sheffield Wednesday completed his signing on 29 November 2024 after he impressed the club’s academy staff.
The move represented Kamwa’s first professional contract.
He described himself as a direct winger who enjoyed using skill, beating opponents and creating chances from wide positions.
Wednesday’s academy staff also highlighted his ability to operate from either flank and viewed him as an additional attacking option for the Under-21 squad.
Kamwa remained with the development side during the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.
Sheffield Wednesday confirmed in May 2025 that he remained under contract for the following season.
He was allocated squad number 39 and continued to train and play within Wednesday’s academy and development setup during 2025/26.
Kamwa was associated with the senior squad during the campaign but did not make a competitive first-team appearance.
In February 2026, he joined Northern Premier League side Brighouse Town on loan alongside fellow Wednesday youngster Denny Oliver.
The move was intended to provide both players with regular senior football and experience of the physical demands of the non-league game.
Kamwa’s spell with Brighouse concluded in March 2026, when he returned to Sheffield Wednesday.
At the end of the 2025/26 season, Wednesday confirmed that an option had been exercised in Kamwa’s contract.
However, his association with the club subsequently ended in the summer of 2026, and he became a free agent following the expiration of his registration.
Kamwa is a right-footed winger who is capable of playing on either side of the attack.
Standing at 1.84m, he combines height and athleticism with acceleration, close control and a willingness to run directly at defenders.
His game is based around isolating full-backs, carrying the ball forward and creating attacking opportunities from wide areas.
